The church was built at the end of the XIth century on the basis of two more old(former) churches among which the one dates the VIIth century. At about the XVth century, the church was regularly visited by the king Louis XI, who often went hunting in the neighbouring forest of Chinon. Features: source(spring) at the crossroads of transepts and wall paintings(paints) of the XIVth and XVth centuries. Abandoned(Given up) in 1859 to the advantage of a new parish church centres market town. Become property in 1983 of the Association Notre-Dame of Rigny which has as objectives to restore the strongly degraded building and to restore it life by organising there for five years the concerts of classical music during the summer season. The old(former) church is classified as "Historic Monument" since 1930\.
