Parish church San Sebastián replacing a chapel opened on October 5th, 1489\. An act of May 14th, 1521 plans to establish the place of Messas as independent parish. He(It) was him(it) the April 1st(April Fools's Day) 1524\. Several works in 1550 then in 1624 concern the bell tower-hall. These works follow the wars of Religion and of vandalism. In 1822, the sacristy implanted in the oriental(eastern) end of the south shoulder was built by Lenoir, master builder in Messas. Finally a project of March 3rd, 1860, signed by the architects from Orléans, Benjamin Ricard and Waldemar Clouet, plans(provides for) the extension of the north shoulder. Works took place in 1861 by Laffray, stony tailor(suit), Boudinot, bricklayer, Girard, carpenter and Isambert, roofer).
