Possible presence of a former maquisard Before going down to the cave, go to the memorial stele erected in 1947 in the clearing by the Maquisards Association. Groups formed according to the arrivals of the public for the comments and the visit of the cave where guerrillas trained to fire. The visits are carried out by the association ARAMP (Association des Anciens Résistants et des Amis du Maquis de Plainville).

The guerrillas stayed in this maquis from June 1944 to August 1944, when they liberated Nogent-le-Rotrou, three days before the arrival of the Americans. For two months, 172 Second World War Resistors lived there, while they sabotaged railway lines and bridges. The memory of this maquis is maintained by the ARAMP (Association of Former Resistance and Friends of the Plainville Maquis).
