This exhibition looks back on the issues surrounding the Loire in the second half of the 19th century: floods, dreams of improving the navigability of the river, projects to divert water from the Loiret… seen through the collection of Paul Guillon, Orleans engineer of Ponts et Chaussées and member of the Loire Special Service. With thousands of pages of archives and a library of more than 500 volumes, this collection, bequeathed in 1909 to the Orléans Media Library, is a valuable testimony to the river and its development.
