Come (re)discover the rich history of the University of Orléans from its creation to today, with this one-hour tour led by Master students in Local Cultural Heritage Management who wish to share their passion for heritage. You will discover the important built, artistic, natural, landscaped and intangible heritage, through the natural spaces and emblematic buildings of the campus.
The tour starts from the Faculty of Law, Economics & Management where you can admire the 1% artistic building A. It will lead you to the artificial lake and its culmination which offers a privileged panorama on the campus. You will then discover the buildings of the Faculty of Science including the one that is very characteristic of the «origins» period. You will go to the University’s sports centre (STAPS): this year’s circuit will exceptionally reveal the history and anecdotes of the STAPS faculty.
You will be able to observe during this journey other works from the 1% artistic. You will also be able to identify the specificities of this campus, to have a more precise idea of its transformation by discovering the oldest buildings designed by a great name of architecture, up to the most recent meeting the highest environmental requirements and deciphering what are the elements of continuity in the architecture.
