On the occasion of the Journées européennes du patrimoie, come and discover the chapel of Vauguillain, dedicated to Saint Julien, the only remaining building with the ramparts of this ancient fortress of the 12th century. Of the original ensemble, only the chapel and the restored ramparts remain. The excavations carried out a few years ago revealed a much more important set than the one we are currently seeing. According to archival records, the castle had significant military activity during the Hundred Years' War and at the time of the Wars of Religion. It enjoys an important strategic position, overlooking a narrow passage of the Yonne valley.
