Property of the Academy of Sciences, Arts and Belles Lettres of Mâcon, this small octagonal wooden pavilion is located at the end of the domain of the castle of Monceau in Prissé. Alphonse de Lamartine liked to retire there to write and meditate. It was here that he wrote part of The History of the Girondins.

Pavilion built around 1840, inseparable from the history of Lamartine and the castle of Monceau where the poet and statesman received many personalities from the political, literary as well as famous musicians. It is in this pavilion that Lamartine wrote pages of the history of the Girondins. The pavilion is open for heritage days.
