The Ursulines Museum preserves diverse collections forming a panorama of art history from antiquity until the 20th century.
Local history and European fine arts are brought to light through works, objects and spaces dedicated to archaeology, the literary and political work of Alphonse de Lamartine (1790-1869), born in Mâcon, to 19th-century regional landscape artists and to the Beaux-Arts16th to 20th century arts.
Presence of the Société d'Etudes Mâconnaises and the Friends of the Mâcon Museums
Note that the temporary exhibition «Pierre Alexandre Morlon (1878-1951), an art in the service of the Republic» is closed.

Old(Former) cathedral of the bishops of Mâcon was built in time(period) Romance then prettified in Gothic time(period), church Saint Vincent suffers from the start from structural defects. His(Her,Its) fragility leads(drives) finally to his(her,its) partial demolition in 1798\. Only both tours(towers,ballots) and narthex remain(subsist), leaving freedom with the visitors to imagine this heritage thanks to a model. The pithy Museum was done up in the narthex. Beautiful tympanum in very rare iconography (XIth century)
