On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the association for the valorization of the fortifications of the Grand Besançon (AVALFORT), organizes a visit of the structures of the ridge of Pouilley-les-Vignes. Discover Works 1 and 4, particularly impressive, consisting of a reduced infantry with ditch, a rock shelter with courtyard and an artillery battery, along a strategic path.
It takes 30 steps to reach the courtyard.

The crest of Pouilley-les-Vignes was done up, with 4 batteries(drum kits) of artillery, supplemented by cubbyholes of infantry with shelters under rock in 4 blockhouses. Permanent works without garrison in peacetime, they were realised from September, 1888 till October, 1890 for the sum 217 023,98-francs. Two works are visitables, the cubbyhole n ° 1 on the West which has just been free(clear) of its plant gangue and work n ° 4 in the East.
