Visit of the Mâcon Academy

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, enjoy a free visit to the Academy of Mâcon. This old private mansion of style Regency was built at the beginning of the eighteenth century by Jean Delaporte de Marnay and by successions it arrived in the family Bauderon de Senecé which left its current name. Since 1896, the Académie des Sciences, Arts et Belles Lettres de Mâcon owns this place which is also its head office. Hotel Senecé is one of the few private residences in Mâcon that opens its doors to the public: visit its lounges, library, old kitchen, stairs and hidden corridors will allow you to better understand life in the eighteenth century.
