Visit the headquarters of the Atelier du 7ème Art, the Lavoir film library in Dornecy. You will discover Frédéric Rolland’s private collection of 7,800 films and 200 devices, and a short history of film exploitation in a magical place open to the general public only for the European Heritage Days.
In association, this place works in synergy with the Pascal Rigaud Museum of Art in Varennes-Vauzelles and its 1,000 devices.

Headquarters of the association l'Atelier du 7ème Art created in Dornecy in 2012.Frédéric Rolland’s private film collection is a cinematheque headquartered in Dornecy in Nièvre. It has a total of about 7,000 elements including 4,500 fictions and documentaries mainly in 16mm and 35mm format. The fund also counts 2300 trailers or old advertisements as well as about 250 reels of amateur films on the axis of the "travelogue" (the travel film), a collection of cameras, posters and exploitation photographs. Jean Van Herzeele was the founding president of the Atelier du 7ème Art. He retired in 1987 in Nièvre and gradually passed on his fund and passion to his grandnephew Frédéric Rolland. He died in May 2020 and one page of the site is dedicated to his memory. Frédéric Rolland is a doctor in film and audiovisual. He promoted the project of the Atelier du 7ème Art of which he is today the president and is divided between Chatillon (in Ile de France) and Dornecy (in Nièvre). Since April 2017, h
