Guided tour of the Castle of Romenay
Discover this Castle which finds its origin from the XIVth century, when the domain is bought by Jean Coquille, ancestor of Guy Coquille (1523-1603), famous historian of Nivernais and jurist. The Castle is extended in the XVIIth century, then widely transformed in the XVIIIth century. Abandoned(Given up) in French Revolution, it is in 1966 only the Count and the countess de Montrichard, descendants of Guy Coquille and possessing the Castle at that time, mean settle down there. The current owners acquire(buy back) property in 1982 and make since very important works there.
To note: visits free of outsides are also proposed. Attention: the children are under the responsibility of relative(parents) (ponds and staves(moats) in water not reassured(secured)).
