The Way of the Cross, known as the “Grand Voyage”, and the cemetery-Calvary of the Récollets, which marks its culmination, is a unique monument. Classified as a historical monument, it consists of 21 stations scattered throughout the historic center and 19 stations located on the site of the calvary.
Many Stations of the Cross were built in Europe between the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century. From the beginning, the pilgrimage of Romans was a great success. The stations of the Way of the Cross and the Calvary had many vicissitudes. It remains today a living heritage; every year on Good Friday, several hundred people make the Great Journey.
