The Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication gives you landmarks, historical, aesthetic, technical by immersing you in the birth and evolution of printing since the Renaissance. A living heritage that gives meaning to the technological changes we are experiencing. Throughout the permanent journey, discover printed treasures, from the Gutenberg Bible to the first "advertisements", from the first newspapers to large format lithographic posters.

Built in the middle of the XVth century, it is in time(period) a private house. The provost of the traders (comparable to a current mayor) and the aldermen (equivalent to the local councillors of today) purchase there in 1604, to instal(settle) the Town house there. They leave her in 1654 for the very new Town hall of Lyons, always located place(square) of Humus. Credit Lyonnais(inhabitant of Lyon) settles down in this urban island in 1863 and gives up(sells) the building(ship) to the City of Lyons in 1956, it is in this period when works are done with the aim of the opening of the museum in 1964 the themes of the printing of which cleared themselves by the importance of the city as production site and centre of business(trade) of books(pounds) in the XVth and XIXth centuries The naming «Museum of France» was attributed(awarded) in 2005 to the museum of the Printing which becomes in 2015 museum of Printing and of graphic Communication.
