The chapel was built in the 13th century on the wall of the priory where the canons lived. It overlooked the access portal from where its dedication to Saint-Michel and probably belonged to the bishops who owned the place. The apse has the particularity of resting on a colonnette outside towards the east. The interior paintings dating from the beginning of the 14th century revealed beautiful surprises to the experts who studied them for their upcoming restoration.
