It is the story of a life: young, old, passionate, dreamers, optimists who thought that the little story could join the great story of Fort l'Écluse. And by dint of conviction, in turn they added a new page! Full of crazy days, sleepless nights, fireworks, wild evenings, intense encounters, friendship, love… That of the resurrection of a place that had buried its past under vegetation, rubble, looters, arsonists... That of the Association for the Protection and Enhancement of Fort l'Écluse.
Fort l'Écluse belongs to those who love it!

The Fort the Lock: a big(great) strengthened fortification. Built in hillside, the strong inferior was endowed in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries of a surrounding wall(speaker) reinforced by a round tower (the Door of France) and of a false brays (place(square) of weapon) who leads(drives) to another access (the Door of Geneva). The terrace, located at the top of the Door of France, offers an exceptional point of view on the valley of the Rhône. The buildings(ships) of Strong superior(higher education) were established in the middle of the XIXth century, high to protect the fort of an attack by the mountain and to increase its possibilities of housing. 1165 walking(steps) cut in the rock train(form) an underground staircase which connects(binds) both forts. In its conservation area, Fort the Lock offers the vestiges of several centuries of military architecture today. He(It) is located in Longeray, Road of Geneva on the municipality of Léaz.
