Free participation. Free access without registration, subject to availability. During the Heritage Days, on 16 and 17, entry to the City of Prehistory is free. Free admission does not apply for visiting the cave.

Unknown to the public, the reserves of the Cité de la Préhistoire, Musée de France, contain a collection of tens of thousands of objects. This is where most of the conservation, study and research work is done. Accompanied by Laurine Viel, the collections manager, you will discover the missions of collection, inventory, restoration... which are ensured behind the scenes by the museum’s scientific team. You will also have the opportunity to meet Hélène Salomon, researcher at the CNRS who works on coloring materials used in prehistory. You can ask her about her work and her latest discoveries!
