Temporary exhibition Nicolas Fafiotte Heritage Days
The Bonnet Silk Museum honours the great couturier Nicolas Fafiotte. Originally from Oyonnax in the Ain, his diplomas in pocket, he made his debut in Paris in the early 2000s at the haute couture house Emmanuel Ungaro. Just 20 years ago, he decided to settle in Lyon, capital of silk, to found his own brand. His inventiveness, high standards and the intimate bond he knows how to create with his clients quickly ensured his first successes. Her spectacular wedding dresses, tailor-made evening dresses and her taste for noble materials became her trademark, opening the doors of prestigious collaborations. Partner of the first hour of Sylvie Tellier, Nicolas Fafiotte makes her dresses of exception and his house enters in 2002 in the small circle of partners of the famous contest Miss France. From 2013 to 2019, he also became a partner of the Etam Lingerie Live Show organized every year for the opening of the Parisian Fashion Week. Corsets, waist bands, corsets and other crazy creations often richly embroidered, he makes up to a hundred pieces for these exceptional evenings. Unique pieces join the exhibition for the Heritage Days. Luxury, Fashion and Intimacy… These three perfectly match the style of this passionate couturier, whose virtuosity is revealed in the former weaving workshops of Soieries Bonnet by a selection of 10 iconic pieces from his collections.
