Built between 1973 and 2006 on the plans of Le Corbusier, the church Saint-Pierre still amazes today by its great modernity of forms and lines, both outside and inside. Come and discover its exceptional light and its original forms.
Visit proposed by the Association Le Corbusier for the church of Firminy-Vert. Heritage Mass Sunday at 10:30. Consult the sheets of other events of the Saint-Pierre church for the Heritage Days:

Exhibition "Of shade and light" in the nave, by Juliette Latron.
Musical interludes Saturday and Sunday at 3pm and 4pm.
Exhibition "it moves in the city! sport and architecture for tomorrow" in the lower parts of the church.

The site Corbusier, worldwide site of modern architecture
Corbusier, architect of international fame and founder of modern architecture, chose Firminy to conceive(design) his largest architectural set in Europe.
This unique(only) site groups(includes): the Community arts centre, the Stage(Stadium), the church Saint-Peter, the swimming pool and the Unity(Unit) of House (apartment-witness(-baton), nursery school, roof strikes down with its splendid open-air theatre and a fantastic view over vicinity).
Several types of visits - free or guided - give you the keys for reading these Historic monuments. You will discover on one hand the games(sets) of lights, of colours, of volumes and of other part the urbanistic main principles of the famous Charter of Athens.
