1609 stimmte Heinrich IV., König von Frankreich, dem Bau eines Jesuitenkollegs in Carcassonne zu. 1666 errichteten die Jesuiten ihre Klassenzimmer, Wohnungen und die Kirche. Das Kloster hat eine Fläche von 3000 m2 und nimmt 1668 180 Schüler auf. Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts wurden die Jesuiten auf königlichen Befehl vertrieben. Aber die Geschichte des Ortes geht weiter und ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

In 1609, Henry IV, king of France, gave his consent for the construction of a Jesuit college in Carcassonne. It was in 1666 that the Jesuits set up their classrooms, their lodgings and the church. The convent thus reached an area of 3000 m2 and welcomed 180 students in 1668. In the middle of the 18th century, the Jesuits were expelled on royal orders. But the history of the place continues and is well worth a visit.
