Among the many characteristic buildings of Montgesty, such as the Menhir de Courtis or the castle of Crabillié, stands the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption. Built in 1330 as attested by an act of Pope John XXII, this building saw its architecture change over time. At the end of the 15th-beginning of the 16th century, the monument was endowed with a bell tower and a turret before the removal of stained glass during the 18th century. Finally, at the end of the 19th century, a nave, side buildings and apses were added.
But the church is distinguished above all by its exceptional movable heritage. Indeed, many works are classified under the title of Historical Monuments such as a painting of «Saint-Louis», a High Altar and a secondary altar, two statues representing respectively «Saint-Joseph» and «The Virgin», a Christ on the cross and a processional cross.
