The house of the Camisard chief Abraham Mazel (1677-1710) was rehabilitated into a «Living House of Resistance». The visit of the house allows a dive into ancient and recent history dotted with discoveries: a secret staircase, a bread oven, the window through which Mazel escaped the king’s dragons…
A guided tour presenting the Mazel association will take place as well as a screening/round table on the theme of bees.

The House Mazel belongs to a place, the Cévennes, with which the population is marked for centuries by the spirit of resistance during periods with economic, political and religious oppressions, especially the historic episode of the war of Camisards, well known in Europe. She(It) benefits from a preserved natural area, because having located in peripheral zone of the National park of the Cévennes and zones M.A.B. (Man and Biosphere), recognised by the UNESCO.
Established(Constituted) in 1992 by numerous actors of resistance in the project of dam(roadblock) of Borie, the association, laywoman, implements project " Living House " in the historic house of the camisard head. The last phase of works of rehabilitation is led thanks to the competition(help) of the architect Jean Louis Roux. A meeting room (70 places(squares)) is on the way to realisation, woollen wooden insulation, heating by heat pump. Cultural project plans(provides for) a Documentation Centre, a route(course) on yesterday resistances in today and a residence of artists and of researchers.
