This votive chapel would have succeeded a simple oratory built, according to a local legend, by a knight upon his return from the Holy Land. The erection in chapel would have taken place in the first part of the seventeenth century by Peter of Chivallet, Commander of Chamont, Knight of Malta of the Order of St. The oldest parts of masonry, including the two small bays on the side of the choir, could date from this period. The chapel is then enlarged and restored over the centuries with at least an intermediate state of enlargement whose traces can be seen in the walled bays. It is still enlarged and raised, perhaps around 1875 because it is known to be blessed, after restoration on August 27, 1876. The square tower could be the most recent part. In 2019/2020 a major restoration was carried out both outside and inside. Beautiful scenery has been updated and restored. The association Les GODAS offers Saturday afternoon guided tours.
