Havre Athletic Club Rugby, 1872-2022: 150 years of passion
At the end of the summer of 1872, a handful of young English expatriates in Le Havre, continuing their youth activities, set out on a wasteland to pass the ball, foot and hand… They do not suspect for a moment that with them, begins the great history of rugby of our country and its Club Dean, the Havre Athletic Club.
Bertrand Lécureur, professor of history and geography and chargé de mission «Le HAC – Rugby, 150 years of history» has embarked on a formidable documentary research to trace in his book Havre Athletic Club Rugby, 1872-2022: 150 years of passion, Published last March by Ramsey, the 150 years of history of this emblematic club, from its foundation to the last decades.
As part of the 2022 European Heritage Days, the Armand Salacrou Library invites you to rediscover with him this important part of Le Havre’s sporting history during a meeting on Saturday 17 September at 3 pm.
