Missery is a small village of a hundred inhabitants located in the Auxois region. An influx of Serein crosses this village which is also close to the Morvan, a village dedicated to the breeding of Charolais oxen and cradle of the breed of horses trait-Auxois. Its church built in limestone rubble placed under the name of St Michel dates for the oldest part (apse) of the twelfth, its avant-choir is of the thirteenth, its panelled nave dates back to the fifteenth century. Its choir contains a 17th century High Altar in gilded wood. In the church a stone statue of Saint John the Evangelist of the second half of the 15th century holds in his hands the Book of Scripture.
