The origin of the Rochasson district dates back to 1924 with a first subdivision created in the countryside, far from the city center. But from this first realization, the neighbourhood has developed according to very innovative principles that, for the most part, are those of today’s eco-neighbourhoods:

• Search for the best exposure.
• Connections to the city.
• Social diversity: plots of all sizes allowing for small or very large houses.
• Functional mix: the subdivision allowed the presence of craft activities and shops.
• Then in a second stage: organization around a central square lined with shops, collective dwellings, a school. .
  Subsequently, the neighborhood hung on to the city with, in particular the realization of the Mauzan college. Over the ages, its urban composition has evolved, especially in terms of trade, but the main original intentions, which are still little known, remain and make Rochasson, an attractive neighborhood where it is good to live.
