At the foot of Mont-Ventoux, Vaison-la-Romaine was one of the richest ancient cities in Provence. Today in a green setting, the sites of the villasse and Puymin , 2 preserved districts of the Gallo-Roman city, reveal the remains of its rich mansions, its craft districts, shopping streets and public thermal baths. Also worth a visit is the Theos Desplans Archaeological Museum, which presents an exceptional collection of imperial statues, mosaics and many everyday objects that testify to the wealth of the ancient city and the way of life of its inhabitants.
