The work of Don Carlo Gesualdo (1566-1613), is part of the movement of the musica moderna which uses dissonances and chromatisms while remaining faithful to polyphony. In his Madrigaux, gathered in six books, the style of the composer evolves until reaching a great maturity of expression from the fifth: counterpoint plays, eloquence of contrasts, complex sound figurations, everything is there.
This programme proposed by the Café Zimmermann unites the soprano voice of Claire Lefilliâtre with the recitation and body play of the actor Raul Iaïza.
