On the museum floor, the temporary exhibition The end of the war, 1944-1945 invites you to relive the highlights of liberation.
From June 1944, the Red Army advanced rapidly towards the West and the Allies landed in France, a victory was then hoped for in Europe.
However, Germany, even at the end of its rope, is far from capitulating. The Nazis persist. The convoys of deportees multiplied until the end of the summer.
The fighting was fierce. The Nazi regime collapsed in May 1945. The French aspired to a return to a normal life that would prove difficult.
