The Bergelière Castle was built on the Halles de La Flocellière around 1840 by the Alquier family. Admiral Alquier was the most famous owner - at the end of the 19th century.He put Maine anchors on the large portal and chimneys, besides the affixing of his weapons above the front door. The Bergelière was then the property of about thirty years of the family of Froidfond, which housed for a long time 17 families of Russian emigrants. The notary of La Flocellière bought it in 1935 and rented it to the Comte de La Laurencie in 1937\. His Italian wife, Laura Sassoli of Bianchi, took refuge there during the war. She welcomed Belgian refugees there in June 1940, then her husband upon his return from captivity. In 1943, an English aviator was secretly housed there. In 1953 the Comte de La Laurencie bought the part of La Bergelière that he lived in and the park. It will be the home of a family of seven children, some of whose marriages will take place there.
