The medieval church was set on fire on May 23, 1794, when the Chouans stormed it to flush out the Republicans. The present church is a large neo-gothic building.
The church’s stained glass windows show the arrest of parish priest Noël Pinot and his judgment by the military commission. In the nave, one can see an engraving showing Noël Pinot climbing to the scaffold on the Place du Ralliement in Angers.
To be discovered in the church: in the transept, the chest or bread hutch in which Noël Pinot was found hidden before being arrested by the soldiers and the document of judgment of Noël Pinot which is presented in an arcade to the right of the nave.
