In April 2022, the association Gabare And Co, made up of a few inhabitants of Chênehutte, bought the old classroom of the Chênehutte girls' school. After 2 1/2 months of work, the bookstore-café opens its doors.

In December, it had more than 300 members, including some 20 active members.
​
The venue was able to host festivals, artists, writers and even hire an intern.
​
Today, we are looking for tools, means to federate around the place the associations of Gennois and the inhabitants of the villages.
​
The structure is thus thought, but always in motion.
​
Today, the association is structured around commissions and a steering committee of three people elected by the collegiate council for one year. Each member can invest a commission, the general objective being to co-create projects. It is a place of cultural experimentation and open to the world where everyone is free to feel at home.
