Meeting-dedication with Gwenaëlle Abolivier, around her book "The bride"
The Bride is a story of resistance, love and friendship. It takes place in France, in 1940, where young people, barely out of childhood, will organize to militate and stand up to the German occupier and the Vichy regime of Marshal Pétain. Odette and the others were arrested in Paris and transferred to the Choisel internment camp at Châteaubriant, where twenty-seven of them were executed on 22 October 1941. Among those shot was Guy Môquet, he was seventeen years old.
Odette Nilès survived and is now ninety-nine years old. From the age of fifteen, she decided to commit herself at a time when few young women dared to free themselves from their families. In her own way, Odette led the way. This story is a way of not forgetting.
