Inaugurated in 1993, the Alain Gerbault space pays tribute to the navigator who was the first to complete the solo round the world race. To this sporting feat, the Laval native added a humanist dimension at the time by becoming the ardent defender of Polynesian culture threatened by Western customs. Having died in 1941, Gerbault leaves us a legacy of his love for adventure, the sea and this heavenly place that we invite you to discover in an original museum space located in the heart of the Perrine Botanical Garden.
