Châteaubriant

Built in the 11th century, the church dedicated to St Jean-Baptiste is probably the oldest in the department. It is a bare church but its baroque altarpiece and its listed statues give it all its charm under the watchful eye of an "eternal Father" coming from an old altarpiece and a Saint Rita sculpted by Jean Fréour in 1950 in the beam of an old cider press.

The Church dedicated to St John the Baptist is one of the oldest Romanesque churches in the department. Built in the 11th century, not far from the Brient fortress, it is a very bare church but its baroque altarpiece (17th century) and its statues classified under the eye of a «Eternal Father» carved in wood give it all its charm.
