About the location

Musée Paul Valéry

Set on the flank of Mont Saint Clair on a terrace overlooking the Marine Cemetery and the Mediterranean, the Paul Valéry Museum has an exceptional view and location. Its architecture designed by the architect Guy Guillaume dates from the early 70s and is part of the logic of the Corbusier buildings.
The Paul Valéry Museum gathers more than 7000 works. The Fine Arts collections, which include more than 730 paintings and nearly 2,900 drawings, are complemented by three specific collections: the Paul Valéry fonds, the Salah Stétié fonds and a collection of Arts et Traditions Populaires.
The gardens that surround it host outdoor events: a multidisciplinary program that offers lectures, literary meetings (including Les Journées Paul Valéry, every year in September), poetry, recitals and concerts, in close connection with the museum’s collections and the city’s Mediterranean identity.
