On August 3, 1908, the Bouyssonnie brothers discovered a nearly complete skeleton of a Neanderthal, as well as his burial in the Bouffia Bonneval cave.
We offer you a guided tour of the archaeological site, so you can discover the site of this major discovery for prehistory.

Chapelle-aux-Saints is a major discovery for the study of the man de Néandertal, world-famous and which lives(remains) a historic, archaeological and anthropological reference. To explain this discovery, a communal museum managed by the association Chapelle-aux-Saints Archéologie Heritage (CASAP), is done up next to the city council and pursues its action(share) of promotion(valuation) of heritage by developing a demanding and innovative programme. Next to the city council the archaeological site of Bouffia Bonneval is where was discovered the first burial known for Néandertal.
