On June 13, 1944, guerrillas led by René Vielle intercepted an important German convoy at the gates of Granada on the Adour. In retaliation, the population gathered in the square witnessed the burning of its main buildings and the arrest of fifty hostages, many of whom were deported. Opening in 1999 of the municipal museum gathering the many testimonies of this dark period.
