Discover the history of the castle, its Renaissance architecture in the heart of the Périgord Noir, the restoration work carried out and to come, presented by the owners. Guided tours only.
Visits departures (Saturday 17 and Sunday 18): 10 am - 11 am - 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm - 3.30 pm.
The day of Saturday 17 September will end with a presentation at 4.30pm of the Association de Sauvegarde de l'église de Castels et du château de Fages, followed at 4.45pm by the AG of the Association (for members).

The castle of Fages, whose foundation dates back to the beginning of the thirteenth century, consists of two square houses. The whole is inscribed in a rampart hemmed by ditches; in an angle a small chapel is vaulted with star-shaped ribs. The architecture full of nobility despite the vicissitudes of history: it was burned twice, in 1567 and 1572\. Most of the buildings date from the Renaissance (16th century) and the beginning of the 17th century. The pavilion built under Henry II presents a magnificent Renaissance architecture with mullioned bays between sculpted pilasters, machicoulis, mouldings interrupted by pediments of windows... By successive marriages, the castle passed from Fages to Monlezun, Montesquiou, Hautefort, Taillefer, Maillard, ... Want to know more? Come and see us!
