Visit the last remaining medieval building of the prestigious Grandmont Abbey!

The Grange aux Moines, located at the Coudier, owed its rescue only to the tenacity of its owners who in 1977 decided to avoid ruin.
Its inclusion in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments in 1980 and the first prize «Masterpiece in Danger» in 1982 allowed the association «La Grange aux Moines», established in 1977, to undertake conservation work and dedicate the Barn to hosting cultural, artistic and artisanal events.
Thus the Grange hosted shows by Véronique Sanson, Claude Bolling, a fashion show Castelbajac, but also many family events, exhibitions, conferences...
For 4 years, the association has taken a new breath and concerts are held over the summer season.
After or before a quick history of the place, we will let you visit the site and its surroundings as you wish. You can hike on the paths of monks today marked and enjoy the freshness of trees. At the end of the day, the performance of three local musicians Adamas Trio will allow you to appreciate the monument under a magnificent artistic atmosphere.

Overlooking the magnificent landscape of the Monts d'Ambazac, about twenty kilometers north of Limoges, the Grange aux Moines is a 12th century building, last vestige of medieval origin of the prestigious abbey of Grandmont that radiated wellbeyond the region, until its destruction in 1778\. The construction of the Grange aux Moines is closely linked to the history of the Abbey of Grandmont.
The Grange aux Moines, listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments is an imposing building (41m x 21m). The vast interior space of the Grange keeps track of its past uses: stable, storage space of crops, place of life of the monks...
The oak frame rests on elegant granite pillars cut which gives the whole an undeniable character. The combination of oak, granite and rustic stone fittings on the load-bearing walls creates an atmosphere of warmth and majesty.
The Association de la Grange aux Moines aims to revive the building by hosting artistic events (concert, theatre...) and cultu
