About the location

Musée des Beaux-Arts
20 cours d'Albret, 33000 Bordeaux
  • Gironde
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The museum offers visitors of all backgrounds a wide panorama of European art from the fifteenth to the twentieth century, divided between two wings separated by the garden of the Town Hall. There are works by artists as famous as Titian, Veronese, Rubens, Van Dyck, Chardin, Delacroix, Corot, Picasso and Matisse, or important collections such as that of the Dutch school of the seventeenth century. The collections also feature rich collections of works by three famous artists of Bordeaux origin, Redon, Marquet and Lhote.
The collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, rich of 8200 works (paintings, sculptures and graphic arts), is the first of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and is one of the most important public collections in France. It extends through numerous loans, about 300 granted each year to French and foreign museums on the occasion of exhibitions, through co-production programs and partnerships with major French and foreign museums and finally, through the museum’s involvement in cooperation
