A stopover on the road to Santiago de Compostela, this 11th and 12th century abbey, with an iconography rich in symbolism, is worth a thorough visit. The very homogeneous architecture is typical of Limousin Romanesque art with its four-sided bell tower, its poly-lobed entrance portal and its octagonal lantern-tower on the transept crossing. The 44 sculpted capitals feature a wide variety of motifs: scrolls, griffins, palmettes, animals and monstrous figures...
