Preserving these iconic natural spaces on the Aquitaine coast requires regular maintenance work that increases with the impact of climate change. This mission brings with it great challenges, inseparable and exciting, that the NFB teams take up on a daily basis to reconcile moderate control of sand movements, the protection of biodiversity and the reception of an ever-growing public.

The beach of Ondres is a vast sandy beach, bordered by a dune, overlooking the Basque country. You will find on site shops (restaurants, snacks, glacier) and activities such as surfing and swimming. This is a beach without garbage (patrons leave with their garbage). Dogs must be kept on a leash on access to the beach. They are prohibited on the stairs and in the restricted area. Owners and their pets must use the North Access Road for walking.
