In addition to guided tours of the paper mill, you will find on the program:

  • A demonstration and sale of cyanotype (Atelier Dixie Rodriguez), on Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
  • The «Monotype and Paper Making» workshop: after each guided tour (10.30am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.15pm, 4.30pm). This workshop is accessible to children from 6 years.
Cyanotype is an alternative photographic process giving a Prussian blue. To obtain this blue, we must cover our paper support with a photosensitive emulsion. It is an ancient process, developed by John Frederick William Herschel in 1842. Anna Atkins (1799-1871), a Herschel friend and botanist, used the cyanotype process to inventory and describe algae and other plants. She is now considered the first woman photographer and her book on algae as the first illustrated book of photos.
The monotype is a printing technique, without engraving, that produces a unique print. This technique makes it possible to produce a negative and positive impression of plants.
