Discover the historical and faunistic heritage associated with the sunken blockhouses of the Pyla and the archaeological operations and underwater biological studies of GRAMASA.
As part of the construction of the Atlantic Wall, the French coastline was divided into several sectors. GRAMASA aims to study and advance knowledge of the defensive system of the Arcachon sector.
Much of the blockhouses built on this coastal strip, between Montalivet and the south of Mimizan, were integrated into the Arcachon Basin support group.
Research conducted by members of the association can take many forms:
- Archaeological operations programmed with the DRASSM and the SRA;
- Inventory and study of land and submarine structures;
- Land and underwater mapping;
- Bibliographic and archival research.
