On the programme: a conference on the theme of Gallic and ancient glass, visits to the exhibition «Bling-Bling, le verre gaulois en toute transparence!» , thematic tours and animations!

Bling-Bling, the Gallic glass in total transparency!
Temporary exhibition (July 12 - October 30, 2022)
The bling-bling is not done in discretion: it must be known, it must be seen. In other words: it has to shine, it has to smack! For a Gaul or a Gaul, what better way to show her success, above all material, than a glass jewel? Following in the footsteps of the glass workshops, Bling-Bling brings you to the discovery of an ancient civilization, finally close to us by its concerns, and questions our own relationship to adornment. Through the study of materials and techniques, with the collaboration of current craftsmen, this archaeological research reveals the production and use of bracelets and glass beads, from the banks of the Nile to the wrists of the Celts.
Didactic panels, touch screens, games of lights, video, illustrations punctuate the visitor’s journey.
The exhibition «Bling-Bling, le verre gaulois en toute transparence!» is an adaptation, by the Gallo-Roman Vesunna Museum, of the exhibition «Bling-Bling, le verre gaulois s s'affiche!» designed by MuséoParc Alésia in 2019, then taken over by the Val d'Oise Archaeological Museum in 2020-2021.
Saturday 17 September at 3pm: "Shining to be seen, the glass adornment, a reflection of Gaulish identities?" Lecture by Joëlle Rolland, scientific curator of the exhibition, archaeologist, specialist of glass craftsmanship in the Celtic world in the Second Iron Age, postdoctoral researcher UMR 8215 Trajectoires, UMR 7065 Iramat.
Animations for 7/12 years old.

In an unique(only) concept in Europe and an audacious(adventurous) architecture of Jean Nouvel, the site-museum Vesunna presents the Roman origins of Périgueux on the vestiges of a big(great) Gallo-Roman house, the domus of Vésone. Exceptional archaeological collections, supplemented by models, tell the ancient city and the lifestyles of his inhabitants, Pétrucores. Outside, in the park, rises the imposing Tower of Vésone, vestige of an old(former) Gallo-Roman temple.
