On a terrace located at the foot of a coteau bathed by the stream of Rose, on the municipality of Grateloup-Saint-Gayrand, is built, in 1630, the castle of Lagarde. It is built for Jacques de Bruet, old(former) governor of Tonneins-Dessus, who comes from a Protestant family. Currently in the same family since 1850.
