Built in 1781, the 18th-century Basquiat hotel, built for Joseph Basquiat de Mugriet, councillor at the Bordeaux Parliament, is a fine example of the hotel between courtyard and garden. The Pierlot family acquired it in 1818 and remained there for 70 years. The town hall of Bordeaux became owner in 1887 and it will house the rectory. Today it is the residence of the rector of the Academy of Bordeaux.
