The Tours de Merle exceptionally reopen their doors from 10:30 am to 6 pm! Come discover the medieval castrum and its cosigneuria in free visit or guided tour (on reservation) during the weekend and dive into the Middle Ages through towers, houses and steep paths!
On Sunday 18, take part in the Carbonnières Heritage Tour to the Merle Tours (by reservation) and discover the intimately linked history of the Carbonnières Tours and the Merle Tours during a hike on these ancestral paths. Departure at 11am from the Tours de Carbonnières, nature hike and picnic from the bag, guided tour of the Tours de Merle and return by bus at 5pm. Experienced hikers.

Medieval Castrum of the XIIth and XIIIth centuries, listed(classified) in conformance with(for) Historic monuments since 1927, located in Xaintrie, between the valley of the Dordogne and the mounts of Cantal. Towers of Blackbird are built on a rocky spur along 200 metres and surrounded by the river Moan. The castrum served as border post between the Duchy of Aquitaine and the County of Auvergne. He(It) was marked by an important organisation in co-seigniory. The park of 10ha shelters the castrum, the firm reconstructed farmer, the ruins of a medieval village, the House Madège with model and archaeological objects.
