The case of the castle Labottière: In 1773, the brothers Labottière, printers and publishers(editors) of Bordeaux having actively participated in the intellectual effervescence which marked the Age of the Enlightenment, appeal to the architects Étienne and Jean Laclotte to build their sumptuous neoclassical house, surrounded with a splendid formal garden and with a vineyard. The castle Labottière, the garden of which established(constituted) the main enjoyment(approval) of this village pension(retreat), was at the time of its edification in a semi-rural sector. Except the buildings(ships) of classic architecture, there remains(subsists) today this large property which went up to the barrier of the Médoc, a French-style garden was listed(classified) ahead of the entrance(entry) of the castle.
